The enchanting city of Las Vegas was my abode for quite awhile. It has giant mega-casino hotels, adorned with lavish care and attention to detail to design a fantasy-like atmosphere. Yes, it's true that it's the Entertainment Capital of the World but believe it or not, I've managed to live a normal life in the city where everything you see sparkles especially at night. For me, it's not a Sin City but an Amazing City.
The Palms Casino Hotel was my home for a couple of months. Despite the fact that it is located off the Strip, the resort has become a well-liked destination for many, especially with younger people, Hollywood actors, and celebrities. The Fantasy Tower is also home to several nightlife venues including Moon Nightclub and the only Playboy Club. The tower holds what is known as the "Sky Villas" and Fantasy Suites, which are some of the most expensive hotel suites in the world. The Hugh Hefner Sky Villa is the second most expensive hotel suite in the world at $40,000USD per night.
If you were not able to find me in my room, surely I was at the Palms 24/7 Cafe ( it offered Black Angus Steaks, specialty pizzas, Chinese dishes, hot and cold sandwiches, tantalizing appetizers and decadent desserts), Bistro Buffet ( the chefs prepared sumptuous specialties like roast beef, shrimps, salads, and Oreo Cheese Cake) or at the Brendan Theaters which was (and still is) conveniently located at the end of the casino floor.
An unforgettable event which happened there was when we celebrated one of the children's birthday. Prior to the special day, I was so busy preparing for the balloons and gift wrapping. It was a delight for me to help with the preparations since I knew it would definitely put a big smile on our baby's face.
When I got a call from the security that everything was cleared and could get in their suite, I gathered everything and went straight away . When the door opened, I saw Mr. Jackson smiling and obviously very excited to start the very exclusive birthday party.
Me: Good morning Mr. Jackson.
Mr. Jackson: Hi, good morning. Come in.
Me : Where's the birthday boy?
Mr. Jackson: In his room.
Me: Is he excited?
Mr. Jackson: Yes, he is.
Me: Okay let me organize these stuff first.
Mr. Jackson: Yes please, thank you.
Me: My pleasure.
I started organizing the presents, balloons, food with the help of the other two children. When everything was settled, I asked Mr. Jackson's assistant if I could leave.
"Mr. Jackson wants you to stay." he said
"Are you sure? " I asked.
"Yes." he answered.
"Well, I love to stay." I answered happily.
Even though I've been with them for a long time, It was not my thing to just appear in any gathering (especially birthdays) uninvited. I never volunteered myself for anything. I respected their privacy.
Mr. Jackson called the blushing celebrator and we started singing the Birthday Song. When Mr. Jackson took off the blindfold, happiness was painted all over his face when he spotted the colorful balloons, huge cartoon character cake, his fave food and all the beautifully wrapped presents. That moment was just priceless.
We greeted him and gave him a big hug. Then we ate and talked. Played some video games and watched him as he unwrapped his presents.
After the party ( that was only first part of the celebration), I gave our angel one last squeeze.
Me : Happy Birthday again and have fun.
Birthday boy: Thank you.
Me: Thank you Mr. Jackson. I'm going back to my room now.
Mr. Jackson : Thank you for coming. God bless you.
Me: My pleasure. Bye.
I said my goodbyes to the family and I went back to my room. It was a great feeling to take part in a very private affair with Mr. Jackson and the kids. I knew it was a special bonding time for them and being able to witness that was just heartwarming.
Thank you again Mr. Jackson for welcoming me in to your awesome family.
Words are not enough to express such gratitude.
Miss you so. . .
