"You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”- K. Gibran
We left Vegas just before midnight for our next destination. All I knew was we're going somewhere but no clue exactly where we're heading. Sounds exciting, huh?!
Since it was more than the usual 4-hour drive, I was quite sure we were not going to Los Angeles. After a couple of hours in the Escalade .. "Are we there yet? "I asked our Security. "No, I will wake you up when we're close," he replied. "Alright, thanks," I answered.
After a few more naps, I found myself in the beautiful city of San Jose. The third-largest city in California located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay.

After a few more naps, I found myself in the beautiful city of San Jose. The third-largest city in California located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay.
We checked in a hotel and rested for the entire afternoon. I asked the boss if we could go out and check the museums and parks on a Friday. He gladly said yes since he was a big fan of museums and he wanted the children to have fun as well.
One thing that we have in common was our fascination about Egypt so we excitedly took off to Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and Planetarium. It housed and still houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in western North America -- including objects from pre-dynastic times through Egypt's early Islamic era.
Next stop was the Kelley Park. It is one of San José's most diverse facilities, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy a picnic or barbecue amid beautiful lawn areas and shade trees, visit animals or simply just a walk through the tranquil Japanese Friendship Garden with beautiful koi-filled ponds.
The next morning, I received a call from Mr. Jackson. He asked if I want to go to San Francisco. Without thinking, I quickly gave my big YES. He said I could arrange it with Security and I could leave anytime I want.
So off we went to San Francisco. First stop was the Russian Hill, a residential neighborhood with the famously crooked Lombard Street, North Beach, the city's Little Italy . Then the waterfront tourist attractions of Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 that feature Dungeness crab from a still-active fishing industry in many of the restaurants there. Then I asked security to meet me after 3 hours, to give me ample time to explore and get whatever stuff I could get from the shops. I planned to take the tour to The Alcatraz ( The Rock movie) but I didn't have much time left after I had my lunch. I didn't want Security to go nuts looking for me if I didn't show up after 3 hours at our meeting place.
One good thing about Mr. Jackson was he liked me to appreciate and enjoy every place we went to. He wanted me to explore and spread my wings. He was never selfish.
He liked the people around him to experience things he has been blessed with. When he got his iPhone, he also wanted everybody to have one.So he gave each of one of us and his close friends the most famous gadget in town. That was how kind, giving and generous he was. He simply wanted people to be happy.
Mr. Jackson gave me an "experience" far more valuable than any material wealth in this world. I have traveled and discovered amazing cultures across the continents, tasted variety of interesting cuisines and met incredible people. A "special gift" from Mr. Jackson which enriched my soul and being tremendously. A present which nobody could take away from me. A memento that will remain for the rest of my life.
I thank the heavens for this man. A person who was precious, kind and rare.
